Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty moves into an all-important weekly options expiry session on the back of a near-200-point drop over the course of this week so far. The index could not close above the 25,500 mark on Wednesday, even breaking below the 25,400 mark intraday, before eventually defending those levels by closing.
Even as the broader markets ended the session having recovered from the day’s low, the advance-decline ratio was firmly in favour of those stocks that were trading with losses. Wednesday’s low of 25,378 remains the first support on the downside, while the index continues to struggle above the 25,600 mark.
Apart from the weekly options expiry, the market will also have to react to a trade deal signed between the US and Vietnam overnight, which puts India’s apparel stocks, like Gokaldas Exports, among others, in the spotlight.
Also, watch out for stocks like Vedanta, as its demerger may face delays, while Nykaa may see a block deal. Multiple stocks like Avenue Supermarts, Indian Bank, PNB, V2 Retail will be reacting to their business updates for the quarter.
