Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Nifty bulls aim to protect the 24,000-24,200 zone despite crude oil prices. HDFC Bank and Axis Bank fell, but ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel offset losses. Nifty Bank protected 57,500.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty bulls enter today’s weekly expiry session on the back of a defiant tone in which they intend on protecting the 24,200 – 24,000 zone on the downside, despite crude oil prices continuing to hover between $88 to $90 a barrel mark.
The index fell only 90 points on Monday despite a 5% drop each in HDFC Bank and Axis Bank, which was offset by names like ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, and others. HDFC Bank’s ADR fell 10.5% overnight, but that was in reaction to the Indian entity’s move to its results.
While that continues to remain in focus, as does the Nifty Bank, which protected 57,500 on the downside yet again to close near the 58,000 level. The 1,000-point range on the banking index remains intact, as does the 500-600 point range for the Nifty 50 between 23,800 – 24,400.
Paytm reacts to results along with the deferment of its bonus issue. Also keep an eye on names like Bajaj Auto, Bandhan Bank, Indian Hotels, Hatsun Agro, Bharat Coking Coal, among others.
