Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: After entering a volatile territory, the markets are consolidating around the 25,200 mark. The Nifty PSU bank index has made major gains. Network 18 shares continue to be one of the biggest gainers of the day.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index appears to have come out of the zone of decline, as the benchmark index is now trading in green, above the 25,200 mark. The Sensex index is also trading above 82,600.
Earlier in the day, after snapping the four-day losing streak on Tuesday, the markets once again are trading in the red on Wednesday. The Nifty index slumped by about 50 points, hovering around the 24,150 mark. The Sensex index also slumped by over 160 points.
This is crucial, as Nifty has not closed or traded below the 25,000 mark since June 24. The Nifty Bank index, on the other hand, is trading in green, only with marginal gains.
Some of the stocks in focus include Network 18 shares, which are trading with gains of close to 14% after the company announced the Q1 results. In addition, Dixon Tech also made gains. Metropolis, Tanla, and Swan Energy shares also rose.
Meanwhile, shares of ICICI Prudential and HDB Financial Services declined after the companies announced their quarterly results on Tuesday.
When we look at the broader market, the Nifty small-cap and the Nifty Midcap indices are trading with marginal gains, holding onto the end. Auto stocks, along with metal stocks, declined.
Some of the biggest volume buzzers, in terms of higher-than-average volume movement, include Network 18, Bikaji, Tanla, Swan Energy, and Just Dial
In addition, eyes will be on Tech Mahindra, Angel One, ITC Hotels, and L&T Tech, which are reporting results today.
