The New York Post reports that police arrested Sha’Carri Richardson on Sunday, July 28, after an alleged domestic violence incident at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Authorities say the Olympic sprinter landed in handcuffs after she and Christian Coleman got into an altercation at a TSA security checkpoint.
The arresting officer claims he saw Richardson shove Christian several times as he tried to walk away. USA Today states that Richardson allegedly pushed him hard enough to make him hit a nearby column. Officials reportedly reviewed airport security footage, which they say shows Coleman trying to leave while Richardson repeatedly bumped into him. Police also claim she tossed a pair of headphones at him during the incident.

Per the New York Post, police took Sha’Carri Richardson to the SCORE South Correctional Facility in Des Moines, Washington, where she stayed for just under 19 hours before her release on Monday, July 29. The incident went down right before she and Christian Coleman were gearing up to compete in the 2025 U.S. Track and Field Championships, where both reportedly raced in the preliminary rounds.
