Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are having another jittery day of trade; the Nifty index is moving towards the 25,500 mark. The FMCG stocks are once again in focus.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian markets continue to largely trade with caution. The Nifty index is currently trading just around the 25,500 mark. The Sensex index is also trading with a minor decline, just below the 83,700 mark.
The Nifty Bank is also trading with a deficit of about 0.25%.
When we look at the broader markets, the Nifty mid-cap index slumped, all the while the small-cap index is trading with gains of 0.56. While Nifty Media led the charge in the morning, the Nifty FMCG took over, trading with a rise in its value.
Vedanta shares declined by over 7% after an alert from Viceroy Research.
Medanta, Elgi Equipment, Syrma SYS, PCBL Chemicals, and NivaBupa are some of the biggest volume buzzers today.
Furthermore, the pharma stocks are in focus. Meanwhile, Union Bank shares declined by 4% after the PSB announced its business updates for Q1 of FY25. Phoenix Mills also declined by over 3%. Medanta shares rose by over 8%. In addition to that, PBCL Chemicals, Garden Reach, and Sterling and Wilson also made major gains in the day’s trade.
