Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex rose 321 points to close at 81,633, while the Nifty ended 81 points higher at 24,834, holding above the 24,800 mark. The broader markets also saw traction, with the Nifty Midcap index advancing 316 points to 57,457 and the Nifty Bank index gaining 129 points to end at 55,546.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Equity benchmarks recovered from intraday lows to end the session with modest gains, supported by strength in information technology and real estate stocks. The market remained volatile ahead of the monthly expiry, but key indices managed to hold crucial levels.
IT stocks saw buying interest after a US court blocked tariffs proposed during Donald Trump’s presidency, boosting sentiment across the sector. Realty stocks were also in demand, aided by positive brokerage commentary. Prestige Estates and DLF were among the top gainers in this pack.
Among individual stocks, IndusInd Bank emerged as the top performer on the Nifty, closing 2% higher despite an insider trading order from SEBI. Cummins India surged more than 6% after the company set a target of double-digit growth in FY25, while Deepak Nitrite rallied 5% on the back of Q4 results.
Samvardhan Motherson ended 2% higher following positive management commentary despite a Q4 earnings miss. New-age companies Eternal and Swiggy also attracted buying interest, rising between 2-3% in today’s trade. Waaree Energies jumped 8% after bagging an order worth ₹1,500 crore, while Welspun Corp surged 10% following a strong quarterly performance.
