Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex surged 1,046 points to close at 82,408, while the Nifty rose 319 points to end above the crucial 25,100 mark at 25,112. This marked the Nifty’s first close above 25,100 in six sessions. The Nifty Bank index also rallied 675 points to 56,253, while the broader midcap index advanced 836 points to settle at 57,996, although it ended the week with a 1% decline.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Equity markets ended the week on a strong note, with benchmark indices posting healthy gains on Friday, helping offset losses from the previous week. Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, the market managed to register weekly gains, with more than 30 Nifty stocks ending in the green.
Frontline indices gained over 1% each during the week. HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel were the biggest contributors to the Nifty’s upmove. Among the top performers, M&M, Bharti Airtel, Eicher Motors and Trent led the gains on the Nifty, while Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance, Dr. Reddy’s and Adani Enterprises were among the top losers. Jio Financial rose 3% to emerge as the top Nifty gainer, buoyed by strong volumes.
Bharti Airtel extended its uptrend, rising another 3% to hit a record high, while auto stocks saw mixed action—M&M gained 3%, but Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Auto slipped over 1% each.
