Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian markets opened relatively flat on Tuesday. The Nifty opened at 24,996.20. The index opened 1,281.15 points behind its all-time high. The Sensex index also opened relatively flat at 82,098.11.

Indian equities continued with Friday’s sluggish price action to close a rangebound trading session in the red. However, the Nifty, after fighting to hold on to the 25,000 mark for a better part of Monday’s trade, ended below that mark, although not alarmingly. The bulls would look to take heart from the recovery on Wall Street as investors moved past the ratings downgrade by Moody’s to buy the dip. While the index remains in a range, the action will be on specific stocks, particularly from the broader markets, as was evident even on Monday. Defence stocks continue to remain in focus as Paras Defence promoters sold stake, while Motilal Oswal downgraded Zen Technologies citing expensive valuations. Earnings reactions come from stocks like JK Paper, Power Grid, DLF, Gujarat Gas, Petronet LNG, and the Nifty 50 constituent Bharat Electronics (BEL).
