Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The markets are in the middle of a sell-off maelstrom, as the Nifty index has declined by close to 200 points, slumping and falling towards 25,150. The Sensex index also declined significantly by over 650 points, pushing the Sensex below the 83,000 mark.
And it’s not just the marquee indices; the broader market also felt the heat, as the small-cap and midcap indices slumped by over 1%, making the overall decline in the day’s trade far more widespread.
The banking index, after holding the shore in the early hours of the day’s trade, also declined by about 0.50%.
The shares of Netweb Tech rose by 8%.The shares of Genmark shot up 15%. The Zee Entertainment stocks tanked by 4.04%. After the results, the shares of TCS and Tata Elxsi declined significantly.
This is in addition to the Nifty IT, which is trading under pressure, with major stocks including Infosys, HCL Tech, Wipro, and Coforge all trading in red. In addition to Genmark Pharma, EID Parry and Acme Solar also hit the 52-week high mark.
