- The Berlin-based platform is offering more than 1,000 exchange-traded funds with no transaction or custody fees.
- A forthcoming Investment Plans feature will let investors automate contributions on a weekly to quarterly schedule.

Mintos launched commission-free trading on more than 1,000 exchange-traded funds today (Tuesday), the company said. The minimum investment is €1, removing the account-size threshold that typically makes small, recurring contributions disproportionately expensive.
Mintos built its business on peer-to-peer consumer loans after launching in 2015, later adding bonds, real estate and a cash management product as it broadened into a multi-asset platform. The company holds an investment firm and electronic money institution license from Latvia’s Financial and Capital Market Commission, which opened the platform to retail investors.
The platform has grown to more than 500,000 users across Europe, according to the company. The ETF launch targets that existing base as much as new investors, extending Mintos’s range beyond loans and bonds.
Martins Sulte, CEO and co-founder of Mintos
“We wanted to remove every barrier between an investor and their first ETF,” said Martins Sulte, Mintos co-founder and chief executive.
No Fees Below the Usual Threshold
Mintos charges no transaction fees on ETF buy or sell orders and no custody fee for holding the funds, the company said. A flat €1 execution fee on a €20 order, common on other platforms, equals a 5% cost before the market moves at all, a cost Mintos said it eliminates entirely.
The fund catalog includes more than 1,000 UCITS-compliant ETFs from providers such as iShares, VanEck and Vanguard, Mintos said. UCITS status requires the funds to meet EU diversification and transparency rules aimed at retail investors.
The catalog is delivered through a partnership with Upvest, the Berlin-based infrastructure firm that also supplies ETF and stock-trading features to CMC Markets, Santander’s Openbank and Revolut.
Neobrokers Split on How Investing Plans Are Priced
Scalable Capital, a German neobroker built around recurring ETF investment plans, charges a monthly subscription of €2.99 for its premium tier, Finance Magnates has reported. Mintos is charging nothing for the trade, the custody or a subscription, only the cost embedded in the fund itself.
XTB introduced an ETF-based product it also calls Investment Plans years ago and rolled out a redesigned version this month, letting clients combine ETFs and individual stocks in the same recurring plan. Mintos previewed a feature under the same name that remains in development, with no rollout date given.
Mintos’s move runs in the opposite direction from neobanks that added investing on top of banking. N26 entered the stock and ETF market in 2024 as a feature inside its banking app, while Mintos is a lending and bond marketplace adding the ETF product neobanks already offer.
Trade Republic, the largest platform in the segment, has grown its own ETF savings plan business to more than 8 million users and over €100 billion in assets, Finance Magnates has reported.
Two Ways to Invest, Run in Parallel
Investors can select and trade individual ETFs themselves under the same fee structure, or use Mintos Core ETFs, a pre-built portfolio of equity and fixed-income funds that rebalances automatically with no management or custody fee, starting at €50. Revolut and other neobrokers have added similar robo-advisor style portfolios in recent years; Mintos runs its version alongside self-directed trading in the same account.
A forthcoming Investment Plans feature will let investors set a recurring contribution on a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly schedule, automating top-ups without further manual orders, according to the company. Mintos gave no launch date for the feature.
Mintos cited ETFGI data showing European-listed ETFs took in a record €330 billion (about $377 billion) in net inflows during 2025, and pointed to Vanguard projections that the number of European ETF investors will rise from 30 million today to 100 million by 2035.
