Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: We are in the second half of the day’s trade, and the markets are moving from strength to strength on strong footing with a rise of nearly 150 points in the Nifty 50 as it looks to scale the 24,400 mark. The Nifty Bank index is also up, jumping by over 450 points, trading over the 58,100 mark. HDFC Bank, Bharat Electronics, and Axis Bank are among the big gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are building on the momentum from the previous session and opening, as the indices enter the second half of today’s session. The markets are picking up from where they had left off in the previous week, as the Nifty rose by a strong 100 points, rising towards the 24,400 mark. The Sensex index is also up, rising over 350 points, jumping to 78,100.
The 24,000 mark has now become a firm base for the index; two important levels come into sight. First is the May 7 high of 24,482, and then is the April 21 swing high of 24,601, from where the index had reversed back to its current range.
The bulls will take comfort from the fact that gains of the last two sessions have come without banks doing the heavy lifting.
The Nifty Bank has also extended its gains, rising close to 500 points, inching towards the 58,500 mark. The Nifty Bank has closed below 58,000 and the index has a very broad range of 57,074 to the recent high of 58,076.
