Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: We are in the second half of the last of trade this week, and the indices look all set to close big. The markets are soaring, and the Nifty is surging towards the 24,400 mark with a 170 point uptick. The Nifty Bank index remains subdued, with a positive bias. HCLTech, Bajaj Finance and Hindalco are the top gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is past noon at Dalal Street, and the markets are raining gains as the Nifty 50 extends and builds on the momentum attained in the previous session. The index is now closer to the 24,400 mark with an uptick of almost 200 points. The Sensex is also up, jumping over 550 points, rising to 78,000.
The Nifty 50 is at a very critical juncture. The first two days of the July series have been positive and the bulls would hope that the week also ends on a high.
Closing above the 100-DMA is a positive, but that had happened two weeks ago as well and the index could not be sustained in the 24,250 – 24,300 zone. That is the range the bulls would be eyeing today, with 24,000 now a firm support on the downside.
The Nifty IT index is making the most of the rise, jumping for the second consecutive trading session, undoing the damage incurred at the beginning of the week.
