When it comes to modern Disney classics, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who wouldn’t regard the animated musical Frozen with cautious admiration. Whether it’s the constant renditions of Let it Go in virtually every medium or the wave of merchandise, Disney’s adaptation of the classic Snow Queen fairy tale had widespread appeal.
So it may be surprising to learn that Disney’s latest collaboration is with none other than hit MOBA Honor of Kings! Yes, hot off the heels of their global launch wave, Tencent’s top team-battler is seeing a wave of new cosmetics for Lady Zhen and Shi themed after the film.
The entirety of Honor of Kings is also getting a bit of a makeover with a new wintry sheen, as even your Minions don Olaf-inspired costumes. You’ll also make use of a new immersive interface to enhance that Frozen experience.
Let it go (again)
It’s no surprise that Honor of Kings chose, or was offered, Frozen as a collaboration partner. Even years later it’s arguably one of Disney’s most popular franchises in terms of merchandising, and manages to grab hearts and minds the world over.
But this collaboration also points to the unusual reach of Honor of Kings. After all, I can hardly see this happening in something such as League of Legends; but Honor of Kings eclipses even that venerable multiplayer fun-fest in terms of audience.
You’ll want to hop in quick if you want to take advantage of in-game events to nab these nifty new cosmetics, however, as this event only lasts until February 2nd!
