Dow Jones Today | US Stock Market Highlights: Stocks climbed on Monday (March 16) as Wall Street sought to rebound from another losing week, while oil prices eased amid ongoing developments in the Iran conflict.
Dow Jones Today | US Stock Market Highlights: Stocks climbed on Monday (March 16) as Wall Street sought to rebound from another losing week, while oil prices eased amid ongoing developments in the Iran conflict.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added roughly 388 points, or 0.8%, the S&P 500 rose 1.01%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.22%. Meta shares rose over 2% on a report the company termed “speculative” regarding potential layoffs exceeding 20% of its workforce. Nvidia shares also advanced more than 1% as its GTC conference began Monday.
In Monday trading, West Texas Intermediate crude traded 5% lower at $93 a barrel. It traded above $100 per barrel overnight. Brent crude fell 2% to around $100 a barrel.
